Welcome to Bay Islands Boyz

Bay Islands Boyz was formed by Deo and Auri James, two brothers living on the beautiful island of Roatan, who want to share all the beautiful spots around the Bay Islands with you.

We grew up running around barefoot, spending more time in the water than out of it. When we were too young to swim out, our mom would tow us out to the reef on a float (and often several other neighbourhood kids hopped on) so that we could snorkel and see the incredible corals and marine life that surround Roatan. As a former dive instructor, our mom loves the water, that love was passed on to us too.

Fishing was an obsession that started early, with after school hours often spent on the beach fishing, in the shallows catching crab for bait or waiting in the gully looking for shrimp for bait. Then, someone opened our eyes to the world of fly fishing, and we were hooked! We started praticing casting in the field, learning how to tie flies, helping out with a local fly fish company to learn more.

Growing up in a hostel (literally- our mom started Roatan Backpackers Hostel, and our house was right in the middle of it), we were always surrounded by travelers from all over, so making friends came second nature. We'd take guests to hunt for crabs, show them how to roast cashews, and introduce them to real island life.

Now we're adults, and want to continue to share our love for the islands with visitors. We hope you'll join us to explore, whether on land, on top of the water, or underneath it!
